Delhi Capitals Team 2022

There has been a release of the IPL retention list for 2022, with most clubs retaining four players, the maximum permitted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Two more franchises will be to the IPL in 2022. (from Ahmedabad and Lucknow). Delhi Capitals Team 2022 Retained Players

Rishabh Pant took over as captain of the squad when Shreyas Iyer got injured during the first leg of the competition. Pant is to take over as the franchise’s leader since Iyer has not been retained. According to BCCI rules, a team may maintain up to three Indian and two international players, but no more than four players can be retained. Ajit Agarkar joins Delhi Capitals as Assistant Coach

New Delhi, 23 February 2022: The JSW and GMR co-owned franchise Delhi Capitals today announced the appointment of former India pacer Ajit Agarkar as the team's new Assistant Coach.

“I am very excited to be part of Delhi Capitals squad for this season,” Agarkar expressed, on the development. “I have been lucky enough to be a player and to be returning in a different capacity. It's obviously very exciting. We have a young and terrific squad led by one of the most talented players in the world - Rishabh Pant. And the coach Ricky Ponting has been a legend of the game. Looking forward to working with them, can't wait to get started and creating some special memories."

The 44-year-old, with 288 ODI and 58 Test wickets to his name, has represented Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils in the IPL. He joins the Delhi Capitals coaching staff of Ricky Ponting (Head Coach), Pravin Amre (Assistant Coach) and James Hopes (Bowling Coach).
